Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) prepared Smart City Challenge proposal which envisions a mix of retrofitting and Greenfield development strategies for central CBD and capitol Complex (Sector 17, 19, 20 and 21). The proposal aims at creating the right ecosystem for the city to grow and flourish. The ABD area will be a model eco smart city developed on the theme of ‘Green Habitat corridors’ which will link its unique ecosystem of water bodies through nature trails and green links creating multiple smaller ecosystems giving Naya Raipur a distinct identity. The area will be a Hub for economic & social activity supported by world class amenities to attract investments & enable growth incorporating high quality public realm experienced through a sequence of interlinked open spaces like plazas, gardens, markets, streets and buildings which will be embedded with technology to make it smart, green, efficient and convenient to use.

The compact nature of development will make the area more walkable, well connected and will enhance the mobility through the intervention of an Inter-modal transit hub.
