Bombay House, Tata Groups global headquarter in Mumbai, the historic 94 year old heritage building undergone extensive renovation process for about 9 months and reopened on 29th July 2018.

The new office space of approximately 1,00,000 sq feet floor area wears a modern look with well-designed common and collaborative spaces to meet the requirements of business today, including high-tech offices, a digitally-enhanced visitor experience centre, and a Starbucks outlet.

The facade of the British-era building remains unchanged, retaining its Edwardian neo-classical look.

Project highlights:

The various innovative electro-mechanical systems & IT infrastructure is installed in the building and these systems are converged on a common Building Automation Platform to achieve the highest operational and energy efficiency.

The integration & commissioning of these complex systems was the biggest challenge and Ecofirst with it’s teams experience and expertise successfully completed the Building Commissioning Process to the utmost satisfaction of the building Owners.


Building Commissioning Objectives

  • Ensure that building systems and equipment are installed and function as per design intent to satisfy the owner's operational needs.
  • Enable 'Soft landings, a process that helps the smooth transition from handover to occupancy.
  • Prevent or eliminate problems inexpensively through proactive quality techniques.
  • Lower life-cycle costs for the owner.
  • Provide documentation and records on the design, construction, and testing to facilitate operation and maintenance of the facility.
  • Improve environmental/health conditions and occupant comfort
  • Maintain energy efficiency (pre-renovation the building was having Green Building Platinum Rating)
  • Perform Integrated System Testing (IST) to ensure safety of the occupants
